PrimeCell does not publish prices, because the cost of regenerative care depends on the diagnosis, the option chosen (for example PRP, PRF, a stem cell product or an exosome product), how many areas and visits are involved, and whether ultrasound guidance is used. PrimeCell is self-pay: Dr. Kenny Chantasi evaluates you first, and you receive an itemized written estimate before any procedure is scheduled. Insurance and Medicare usually do not pay for PRP, stem cell or exosome procedures for pain.
A clinic that quotes a stem cell “package” over the phone, before anyone has examined you, is pricing a product — not planning care around a diagnosis. Two patients with knee pain can need entirely different plans, and some need no procedure at all.

What changes the price
Your estimate itemizes each of these so you can see where the cost comes from.

The diagnosis and the option chosen
A trigger-point or joint injection, PRP, PRF, a stem cell product and an exosome product are different procedures with different costs. As a rule, conventional injections cost least, PRP and PRF sit in the middle, and cellular and exosome products cost the most while being the least established.

Number of areas injected
One tendon differs from both knees, or from several spinal levels. Injecting more than one area in the same visit changes the estimate.

Product type and amount
For PRP, the preparation (standard PRP, a PRP gel preparation or PRF). For cellular and exosome options, the product category, its source and the amount used. The specific product is disclosed in writing before you decide.

Image guidance
Diagnostic ultrasound during the evaluation, and ultrasound guidance during the injection when it helps place the needle accurately.

Number of sessions
Some plans are a single visit; others are a planned series. Your estimate states how many sessions are proposed, and you are not asked to prepay for a series at the evaluation.

Follow-up
Follow-up visits, re-examination and rehabilitation guidance are part of the plan. The estimate shows what is included, so follow-up is not a surprise afterward.

Insurance & Medicare
Will insurance pay?
Usually not. Most health plans and Medicare consider PRP and stem cell injections for orthopedic pain experimental or not medically necessary. PrimeCell does not bill insurance; conventional services you receive elsewhere may still be covered by your plan.
Health savings and flexible spending account rules depend on your plan administrator — ask them before you assume eligibility.

Paying over time
Qualifying patients can use Cherry, a buy-now-pay-later service for health and wellness care, with 0% APR options for some plans. Checking eligibility does not affect your credit score. Terms depend on the lender.

Before you compare
Why prices you see online are misleading
Short answer
A price posted online for “stem cell therapy” or “PRP” rarely describes the same thing from one clinic to the next. The product, the amount, the number of areas and sessions, and what is included all differ, and a figure quoted before an examination is pricing a product rather than a diagnosis.
- The same words mean different products. “Stem cell” can mean your own bone marrow, a donated birth-tissue product, a cell-free exosome product, or a product with few or no living cells.
- The amount and preparation are rarely stated. PRP preparations and cellular products vary in volume and concentration.
- What is included varies. Some figures leave out the evaluation, image guidance, a second area or follow-up visits.
- Per-session prices hide the series. A low figure for one session can become a much larger total when several are planned.
- A price says nothing about fit. Some patients need no procedure at all, and the right answer can be rehabilitation or a referral.
Questions to ask about any quote
- What is my diagnosis, and why is this procedure recommended for it?
- Exactly which product or preparation is quoted, from what source, and how much of it?
- Is it FDA-approved for my condition? Will you state its status in writing?
- How many areas and sessions does the total cover?
- Are the evaluation, ultrasound guidance and follow-up visits included?
- What happens, and what does it cost, if a further session is suggested later?
- Can I take the written estimate home before deciding?
Pricing red flags at any clinic
- A firm price or “package” quoted before an examination
- Pressure to prepay for multiple sessions or to decide the same day
- Claims that a product is FDA-approved, “FDA-compliant” or proven for your condition
- Promises to regrow cartilage, cure arthritis or eliminate the need for surgery
- Discounts that expire today, or free seminars that end with a sales pitch
- No written estimate, or an estimate that does not name the product category and its status

Why doesn’t PrimeCell list prices online?
Because a posted figure would describe a product, not your treatment plan. Two patients with knee pain can need different procedures, different amounts and different numbers of sessions, and some need no procedure at all. A written estimate after an evaluation is the only figure that applies to you.
What does the written estimate include?
The recommended procedure, the product or preparation and its regulatory status, the areas injected, image guidance, the number of sessions and the follow-up included. You can take it home, ask questions and compare before deciding.
Is PRP cheaper than stem cell or exosome therapy?
Generally yes. PRP is prepared from your own blood during the visit, while cellular and exosome products are obtained from outside laboratories. PRP also has more trial data. Your estimate shows the actual difference for your plan.
Does insurance or Medicare cover stem cell injections?
Usually not for orthopedic or pain use. PrimeCell is self-pay and does not bill insurance. Insurance and regenerative medicine.
Can I finance a procedure?

Will I be asked to pay for a procedure at my first visit?
No procedure is performed or prepaid at the evaluation unless you have agreed to it in advance. The first visit ends with a plan and, when relevant, a written estimate.
